Founded in 1990, SAX AVENUE, marching band from ORLEANS in FRANCE, is unusually composed only of saxophonists whose play from the biggest sax in the world to the smallest.

Add a percussionist and a guitarist, and you have an orchestra that is just at home on stage as well as in the street, that plays while marching, while dancing, while performing moves, and a stage show in which the love of playing and having fun is abundantly obvious.

They took a trip to New Orleans to draw their inspiration from the very roots of blues and swing, to explosive effect.

Their interpretations of swing classics and rock gems are as lively as they are unlikely.

Sax Avenue’s repertoire is clear evidence that the saxophone is suited to any musical genre. From Bob Marley to Jimi Hendrix, via the Blues Brothers, a breath of voodoo still filters through a haunting swing…

As well as appearing in various festivals and other events in France, Sax Avenue now exports its music all over the world.
